As a Lead Solutions Architect at JPMorgan Chase within the Infrastructure Platform Client Solutions, you are an integral part of a team that works to develop high-quality architecture solutions for various software applications on modern technologies. As a core technical contributor, you are responsible for implementing observability solutions across multiple technical areas within various business functions in support of project goals.

Job responsibilities

  • Engages technical teams and business stakeholders to discuss and propose technical approaches to meet current and future needs
  • Design and implement observability solutions to monitor and analyze the performance of our systems and applications.
  • Develop dashboards, alerts, and reports to provide real-time insights into system health and performance.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify and address observability requirements and challenges.
  • Support application teams in adopting observability practices to bridge business KPIs and the infrastructure components that support them.
  • Optimize existing monitoring and observability tools to improve efficiency and effectiveness.
  • Provide technical leadership and guidance on best practices for observability and monitoring.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve complex issues related to system performance and reliability.
  • Stay up-to-date with the latest trends and advancements in observability and monitoring technologies.

Required qualifications, capabilities, and skills

  • Formal training or certification on software engineering concepts and 5+ years applied experience
  • Proven experience as a Solutions Architect or similar role, with a focus on observability and monitoring.
  • Experience designing, planning and implementing observability strategies
  • Proficiency or certifications in at least one of the following tools: Dynatrace, Splunk, Grafana, or Datadog.
  • Strong understanding of observability principles, including metrics, logs, and traces.
  • Experience with cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure, Google Cloud), databases (e.g., SQL, NoSQL), messaging technologies (e.g., Kafka, RabbitMQ), and containerization technologies (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes).
  • Experience in one or more programming language(s)
  • Proficiency in automation and continuous delivery methods
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to troubleshoot complex issues.
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams.
  • A proactive and innovative mindset, with a passion for continuous improvement.
Preferred qualifications, capabilities, and skills
  • Proficient in all aspects of the Software Development Life Cycle
  • Advanced understanding of agile methodologies such as CI/CD, Application Resiliency, and Security
