Minimum qualifications:

• Bachelors degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, related technical field, or equivalent practical experience.
• Experience automating infrastructure provisioning, DevOps, or continuous integration/delivery.
  
• Experience in automation or coding/programming in languages such as Java, Python, Javascript, C++, Go.
  
• Experience with system design and development specific to automation and tools used for cloud platforms and migration

Preferred qualifications:

• Experience with Google Cloud Platform (GCP) techniques such as prompt engineering, dual encoders, and embedding vectors.
  
• Experience building prototypes or applications.
  
• Experience with IaC and CICD tools like Terraform, Ansible, Jenkins, etc.
  
• Knowledge of containerization and container orchestration technologies such as Google Kubernetes Engine (GKE).
• Understanding of object-oriented programming concepts, data structures, and algorithms.
• Familiarity with standard IT security practices such as identity and access management, data protection, encryption, certificate, and key management.

As a Cloud Engineer, you will be a part of the team that develops automations and tools to accelerate cloud migration. You will work closely with a cross-functional team of infrastructure/cloud developers, cloud migration consultants, architects, and other groups within Google Cloud to identify use cases for automation.

In this role, you will be providing best practices on secure foundational cloud implementations, automated provisioning of infrastructure and applications, cloud-ready application architectures, and more. You will also provide prescriptive guidance in ensuring that customers receive the best of what Google Cloud Platform (GCP) can offer and have the best experience in migrating, building, modernizing, and maintaining applications in GCP. Additionally, you will work closely with Product Management and Product Engineering to drive excellence in Google Cloud products and features.

Responsibilities

• Provide domain expertise in cloud platforms and infrastructure, solving complex cloud platform challenges.
  
• Work with customers to design and implement Cloud based technical architectures, migration approaches, and application optimizations that enable business objectives.
  
• Be a technical advisor and perform troubleshooting to resolve technical challenges for customers.
  
• Develop Java based applications and automations for the manual activities involved in cloud migration suggested by the cloud architects.
  
• Develop industrialized and scalable automation solutions which can be leveraged by cloud migration groups within Google to accelerate migration programs.
